A note of caution: While we are always glad to receive visitors at the Center, a large portion of the work of John Dewey is available in various published forms, including the Collected Works of John Dewey, John Dewey Online, the Essential Dewey, and various other editions of Dewey's work. It would be a good idea to find out what is available to you in your local area before making the trek to Carbondale. Not accessible remotely, and potentially worth the visit, are the Center's sizable digital collection of secondary literature about Dewey and his work, SCRC's various archival holdings of Dewey's manuscripts and library, and various documents related to the history of the Center for Dewey Studies.
